Italy - Car Hire Italy, Italy

The Italian people are an ethnic group speaking in the Italian language as a mother tongue. Because of large scale immigration over 70 million people of Italian ancestry live outside Italy.

Italy is the boot shaped country in Southern Europe. The great cultural units of historical Italy were formed in the 9th and 8th centuries B.C. It is made up of small clusters of German, French and Slovene-Italians in the North, with Albanian-Italians and Greek-coming out of the South. Italian is the official language of Italy with minority languages of German, French and Slovene also being spoken. A total of 90% of Italy is made up of Catholics as the religion of choice and the other 10% follows the Protestant, Jewish and some Muslim religion customs. A percentage of 98.4 of Italy's residents can read and write over the age of 15. That makes the people of Italy have cultural and educational strengths that other countries lack.

As of July 2009, there was a total population of 58,126,212. There are 1,144,984 more females than males with most of them being over the age of 65. Life expectancy of the total population is 80.2, with women living 6.07 years longer than men. Of the population there are a total of 13.5% of children 0-14 years old, 66.3% teens and adults 15-64 years old and 20.2% of people 65 years of age and older. The death rate among males and females is what makes this statement hold true. The people generally hire a car in Italy to travel in and out of the city and that is one of the most important occupations of urban population.

There is 1.31 children born for every woman in the population of Italy. The ratio of males to females at birth is 1.07. There are 8.36 births per 1,000 of the population which is under the 10.61 of deaths to 1,000 of population. For every 1000 live births there are 5.51 deaths. There are more male fatalities at birth than females. According to the GDP real growth rate it has a -0.7%, with a population growth rate of -0.04%.

With a population this large there are some problems as with any other country. There are 25.09 million people that is part of what makes up the labor force of Italy with a 6.8% of this population being unemployed. This has a tremendous effect on the public debt being at 103.7% of the GDP. As we can see with a such a large population there are economic problems everywhere as far as the job market and the jobs available to employ the whole population.
